Okay, so this might look dodgy because I never technically got any comments on my first post, but I did actually advertise the paperclip on facebook too. This blog simply doesn't have enough subscribers yet.

So, my original paperclip has magically become 2 little birds, lovingly made by Emily. Already that's a clear increase in value, though I'm not entirely sure how Emily will benefit from a single paperclip.

If anybody has a home where these birds would fit in, or is looking for a different gift for someone, or if you're just looking for company then these birds are perfect.

Who will start off the bidding on this wonderful shiny paperclip? It can be any colour (as long as it's yellow) and it has many uses. I'd list some examples but the list is so long I'd rather list things it cannot do. This paperclip cannot fly you into space. This paperclip cannot sustain a human for more than a week. List exhausted.

Introduction

Welcome to my blog. 

For those of you who don't know, the paperclip challenge is a trading game where one starts with a paperclip and trades it for something better. This new item is then traded for something even better. This goes on and on until the player has something they want. Everybody who trades along the way benefits by swapping something they don't want for something they do.

My Aim

The reason I decided to play this game is a long boring story that I doubt any of you care about. To summarise, my girlfriend has moved to Germany for a year (I live in the UK). I would like to visit but with my part-time job I have no hope of raising the funds. I hope to turn a paperclip into a plane ticket by Christmas. If all goes well and my fanbase grows enough I will consider playing again until I have a house, a role in a Hollywood film, a life-size waxwork model of Katy Perry. A boy can dream can't he?

Your Role

What I need from you is simple. Find things you don't want anymore and check this site regularly. When you see something you want, put in an offer. Also, tell your friends. The more people using the site, the more awesome things will be traded, the more likely you are to find something you actually want. Everybody wins.
